The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Usman Alkali Baba, has submitted the probe panel report on the suspended Head of the Intelligence Response Team, Abba Kyari, to the Police Service Commission (PSC).
This is coming almost six months after the SIP led by DIG Joseph Egbunike submitted its report to the IGP.
Recall that Kyari is being investigated over his alleged role in a $1.1 million internet scam by popular Instagram influencer, Abbas Ramon, aka Hushpuppi, and four others.
The probe followed his indictment by the United States Federal Bureau of Investigations which recommended that he be extradited to the US for trial.
A commissioner on the PSC, Austin Braimoh, who confirmed the update to newsmen on Sunday, said the commission would deliberate on the issue this week.
He said, “The standing committee is still going through the report after which they would present it to the plenary for action.”
