The Vice President of the United States, Kamala Harris, has tested positive for COVID-19.
This is coming almost four weeks after receiving her second booster shot.
Harris becomes the latest high ranking U.S official to be infected after House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.
Kristen Allen, Press Secretary to Ms Harris, said she will isolate and continue to work from the Vice President’s residence till full recovery.
“Today, Vice President Harris tested positive for COVID-19 on rapid and PCR tests.
“She has exhibited no symptoms, will isolate and continue to work from the vice president’s residence,” Ms Allen said in a statement.
There are not many concerns for President Joe Biden’s possible infection as he has not been in close contact with Ms Harris due to their recent travel schedules.
