According to the Defence Headquarters (DHQ), troops in the North East and North West killed 54 terrorists, liberated 216 people held hostage, and surrendered 501 militants.
Major General Musa Danmadami, Director of Defence Media Operations, told media that the forces detained 73 terrorist logistical providers, including one female, and four terrorist informants between April 6 and April 20, 2023.
He stated that troops from Operation Hadin Kai neutralized 24 terrorists, arrested 40 terrorist logistics suppliers, 4 terrorist informants, and rescued 206 civilians in the North East, while 501 Boko Haram/Islamic State of West Africa Province terrorists and their families surrendered to troops at various locations throughout the theatre of operation.
He said the troops within the weeks in review, recovered 14 AK47 rifles, two AK49 rifle, one AK56 rifle, one GPMG, one RPG tube, one PK MG, two RPG bombs, 732 rounds of 7.62mm NATO, 77 rounds of 7.62mm special, 19 rounds of 7.62mm x 29mm special, 16 rounds of 7.62mm ball metal links ammo, 1,000 rounds of 7.62mm NATO (belted), 243 round of 7.62mm x 54mm special ammo, 89 rounds of 5.56mm x 45mm special, 16 AK47 magazines, 7 dane guns and the sum of N103,505.00 only as well as other sundry items.
He also said that troops of Operation Hadarin Daji neutralized 30 insurgents in the North West, arrested 33 suspected criminals and rescued 10 kidnapped civilians.
The troops also recovered 13 AK47 rifles, 16 AK47 magazines, 1,531 rounds of 7.62mm special, 886 rounds of 7.62mm NATO (belted) ammo, 139 rounds of 7.62mm special (tracer) ammo, and 30 rounds of empty cases of 7.62mm special.
