During a National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting held in Abuja, on Sunday, the Trade Union Congress (TUC) decided to prioritize ongoing discussions with the government over the removal of petrol subsidies.
The TUC criticized the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), led by Ajaero, for what they perceived as a slowdown in the negotiation process between Organized Labour and a government delegation headed by Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila.
This decision highlights a division within the labor unions regarding the approach to address the petrol subsidy removal and its impact on the Nigerian population.
