The Nigeria Customs Service has initiated the implementation of the Federal Government’s 100% duty waiver for processed Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) and imported Liquid Petroleum Gas (LPG), along with additional coverage for electric vehicles, gas air conditioners, and related items.
Abdullahi Maiwada, the National Public Relations Officer of the NCS, conveyed this information in an exclusive interview with The PUNCH on Tuesday.
The directive, issued by the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Mr. Wale Edun, instructed the NCS to apply a zero per cent duty on various items related to CNG, LPG, and the Presidential CNG Initiative. The NCS promptly issued a memo to all its commands and formations on December 15, 2023, to commence the implementation of the initiative nationwide.
