FG Reviews Teacher Education Policy

The Federal Government has updated the National Teacher Education Policy (NTEP) to ensure educators are well-equipped with the necessary tools, knowledge, and skills for providing quality education. Minister of Education, Professor Tahir Mamman, highlighted that the revision, carried out in collaboration with stakeholders, is essential for teacher education and development in Nigeria, especially at foundational and basic levels.

The draft document will undergo validation by stakeholders in early 2024 before implementation.
