Vice President Kashim Shettima has left Abuja for Davos, Switzerland, to represent Nigeria at the annual week-long meeting of the World Economic Forum (WEF). As indicated in a statement released on Sunday by his media assistant, Stanley Nkwocha, the Vice President will engage with global political and business leaders during the forum to deliberate on overarching socio-economic and developmental concerns.
A key focus of Shettima’s participation is the unveiling of the Private Sector Action Plan for the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) during a special session that he will co-chair. Additionally, the Vice President is slated to conduct substantive discussions with notable figures such as IFC Managing Director Makhtar Diop and the Prime Minister of Vietnam, Pham Minh Chinh.
He will preside over a roundtable dialogue on Nigeria’s economic trajectory and attend a dedicated session addressing trust-building in the global energy transition program. Vice President Shettima is anticipated to return to Nigeria following his engagement in the comprehensive week-long event.
