President Bola Tinubu is presently in a meeting with governors affiliated with the All Progressives Congress (APC) at the States House in Abuja. While the specific agenda of the meeting has not been disclosed, sources suggest a potential link to the suspension of the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Betta Edu.
Imo State Governor and Chairman of the Progressives Governors Forum, Hope Uzodimma, stated that the allegations against the minister are still under investigation. Following a meeting at the Imo State Governor’s Lodge in Asokoro, Abuja, Uzodimma emphasized that the case is currently characterized as an allegation. He highlighted the government’s role in promoting positive actions and appointees while addressing negative issues, emphasizing that Edu’s case is in the investigative phase.
Uzodimma stressed that the President, exercising wisdom, has initiated an investigation into the matter. He mentioned that the final decision regarding Edu’s suspension will be made after the investigation concludes and the report is presented to the government. Additionally, the governors discussed strategies to support the APC, President Bola Tinubu, and his administration, ensuring the effective implementation of policies at the grassroots level.
