Vice President Kashim Shettima has departed Abuja to participate in the annual World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland. The week-long event, scheduled from January 15 to 19, will bring together global political, business, and cultural leaders to influence worldwide, regional, and industry agendas.
Media aide Stanley Nkwocha stated in a press release issued in Abuja that Vice President Shettima will not only attend the Forum but will also co-chair the launch of the Private Sector Action Plan for the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCTA). During his stay, he is slated to engage in high-level discussions with notable figures, including Managing Director of the International Finance Corporation (IFC) Makhtar Diop and Prime Minister of Vietnam Pham Chinh.
In addition to these engagements, Shettima, on the sidelines of the annual meeting, will preside over a roundtable dialogue addressing Nigeria’s economic trajectory. He will also participate in a special session dedicated to fostering trust in the global energy transition program.
The vice president is expected to return to Nigeria following the conclusion of the World Economic Forum meeting.
