The World Health Organisation (WHO) has contributed trauma kits to the Plateau State Government to offer assistance to the victims of the Christmas Eve attack in the state. Musa Mahdi, the WHO Coordinator in Plateau, presented the kits in Jos on Tuesday, emphasizing that this support aligns with WHO’s mission to assist the government in addressing humanitarian crises.
Mahdi detailed that the trauma kits include over 60 pieces of equipment, enabling the conduct of more than 200 procedures and the treatment of over 100 individuals with severe injuries. He expressed the intent for the Plateau State Government to use these resources to respond promptly to health emergencies.
Dr. Cletus Shirkuk, the Commissioner for Health in Plateau, expressed gratitude to WHO for the donation and assured that the items would be effectively utilized. He urged both groups and individuals to extend their support to the state in meeting the humanitarian needs of displaced persons.
