Civil Society Organisations and the “Take It Back Movement” staged protests in Benin City, Lagos, and Osun States against Nigeria’s economic hardship.
The protests highlighted a 29 percent inflation rate and the removal of fuel subsidies, leading to soaring food prices and high living costs. Demonstrators called on the government to address these issues, with placards reading “End Economic Hardship” and “FG End the Hunger in Nigeria Now.”
Among the protesters was Dr Azemhe Azena, the governorship candidate of the NNPP in Edo State, underscoring the need for government action.
These protests are part of a series of demonstrations across Nigeria against President Bola Tinubu’s policies, which have resulted in tripled petrol prices and increased living costs.
