Governor of Kano state, Abba Yusuf, met with Nuhu Ribadu, the national security adviser (NSA), amid the emirship tussle.
The Kano governor visited Ribadu in his office in Abuja on Thursday. The visit comes days after Aminu Gwarzo, deputy governor of Kano, accused Ribadu of allegedly facilitating the return of Ado Bayero, the dethroned Emir of Kano, to the palace by providing him with two private jets.
Ribadu denied the allegation while threatening to sue Gwarzo.On May 23, Governor Yusuf reinstated Muhammadu Sanusi as the Emir of Kano after he signed the bill that repealed the Emirate Council Law of 2019.
The Kano governor dethroned Ado Bayero and the other four Emirs, who were appointed in line with the 2019 law.
He subsequently ordered the arrest of the dethroned Emir for “creating tension in the state. The Attorney General of the Federation has since summoned the chief judge over the incessant lawsuits in the emirship tussle.
