The Niger State command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps, NSCDC has apprehended two heavy-duty trucks transporting vandalized railway slippers and tracks valued at millions of naira.
The state commandant, Joachim Okafor, stated. He explained that the command’s anti-vandal squad, who were working on intelligence, made the seizure along Mokwa road in Niger State.
He stated that the command is acting on the marching order of Commandant-General Ahmed Abubakar Audi’s directive that commands should intensify surveillance and security watch all over critical national assets and infrastructure across the country.
He revealed that the case is currently under investigation and if the owners of the two trailers refuse to show up, they will be confiscated in court.
