The House of Representatives has resolved to investigate the alleged fraudulent allocation of title documents to some real estate developers before Nyesom Wike’s appointment as Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
The resolution followed a motion of urgent public importance moved by Hon. Jonathan Gbefwi representing Nasarawa, during Thursday’s plenary session.
Gbefwi noted that prior to Wike’s appointment several title land documents in the FCT were issued to real estate developers under suspicious circumstances.
Gbefwi questioned the legality of the Director of Lands or other officials of the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) or Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA) issuing the Right of Occupancy in the Minister’s name during a period when the Minister’s office was vacant.
The House also urged Minister Wike to withdraw land allocations that are subject to litigation or multiple allocations until the issue is resolved.
