Governor Agbu Kefas of Taraba State has voiced concern over the reported killing and abduction of fishermen from the state by suspected members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) in Anambra State, according to Daily Post.
The victims, believed to be from Ibbi local government council of Taraba, were allegedly attacked in Osama village, Ogbolu local government area of Anambra State.
According to the report, some victims were brutally murdered while others were abducted by the suspected IPOB members.
It added that nine individuals are currently in the custody of the alleged kidnappers, with the people of Ibbi community expressing their belief that the perpetrators are members of IPOB. Governor Kefas, through his Special Adviser on Media and Digital Communication, Emmanuel Bello, assured that efforts are underway to rescue the remaining captives alive.
