A Federal High Court in Abuja on Tuesday rejected Ibrahim Dende’s application seeking to restrain investigative journalist Fisayo Soyombo from further reporting about him.
The court declined to entertain the request and instructed Dende’s legal team to formally notify Soyombo, founder of the Foundation for Investigative Journalism (FIJ), and Arise Group, regarding the lawsuit.
Dende had filed a lawsuit against Soyombo and FIJ following an undercover investigation that implicated him in smuggling and gunrunning activities, portrayed in Soyombo’s report titled “Undercover As A Smuggler.”
