The Ogun State Police Command announced Wednesday that four travelers abducted on the Sagamu-Ijebu-Ode expressway on Sunday have been rescued.
The State police spokesperson SP Omolola Odutola confirmed the successful operation, noting that the victims included Mr. Ola and three Indian nationals.
Odutola said the rescue occurred along the Ogere axis of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway by the anti-kidnapping team. Commissioner of Police Abiodun Alamutu had ordered the manhunt on Monday following the abduction. The gunmen had ambushed the travelers between the Sagamu Area Command and Ilisan township. The police noted that efforts are ongoing to apprehend the fleeing suspects.
