Primate Elijah Ayodele, the leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, has issued a warning to President Bola Tinubu regarding the ongoing protests in Nigeria, attributing the unrest to widespread hunger and dissatisfaction among the populace. In a statement released by his media aide, Osho Oluwatosin, Ayodele emphasized that the protests are not solely directed at Tinubu but are also a response to the perceived incompetence of his ministers and aides.
Ayodele urged Tinubu to consider reshuffling his cabinet, stating that the current administration’s challenges stem from these officials. He highlighted the urgent need for the government to address rising prices of food, fuel, and electricity to alleviate public frustration. “The country is bleeding,” he remarked, warning that if the protests persist, it could lead to a collapse of the nation.
The prophet criticized the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, suggesting that his lack of effective coordination contributes to the unrest. Ayodele believes that by addressing the economic issues directly, the government could quell the protests and restore public confidence.
He also cautioned against being misled by political figures, including traditional rulers, who he claims are deceiving Tinubu. Instead, he urged the president to listen to the voices of ordinary Nigerians who are genuinely affected by the current economic hardships.
