Former All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential aspirant Adamu Garba has accused self-proclaimed Biafra Prime Minister Simon Ekpa of being behind the ongoing protests against President Bola Tinubu’s administration. Garba alleged that Ekpa, who resides abroad, has contracted influencers to incite unrest and exploit the current economic hardships facing Nigeria.
In a post on X, Garba stated, “The real sponsors of these rioters/’not genuine protesters’ are sworn Nigerian enemies, someone like @simon_ekpa who’s taking sanctuary in a foreign land yet ordering and commanding the destruction of his fatherland.” He expressed concern that Northern influencers have been engaged to further the agenda against Tinubu’s government, suggesting that some disgruntled politicians see the protests as an opportunity for revenge.
Garba called for a reassessment of Nigeria’s relationship with Finland, urging the country to extradite Ekpa for questioning regarding his alleged role in orchestrating the protests. He emphasized that the situation reflects a broader issue of deception within the North, stating, “When I told you the North was deceived, I know what I am saying.”
