The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has successfully thwarted a terrorist attack on the Department of State Services (DSS) facilities in the Shiroro Local Government Area of Niger State. According to Zagazola Makama, a counter-insurgency publication, the NAF deployed Tucano jets after receiving intelligence about a planned ambush by suspected terrorists targeting DSS assets.
The airstrikes resulted in the deaths of at least 28 bandits, with their bodies recovered from the area. Unfortunately, two DSS operatives lost their lives during the ensuing gun battle. In addition to the human toll, security forces also confiscated several weapons and motorcycles used by the bandits.
The NAF has not yet released an official statement regarding the incident, but this operation highlights the ongoing efforts to combat terrorism and protect vital state facilities in Nigeria.
