An anxiety over what would be the decision of President Muhammadu Buhari on Inspector-General of Police, Ibrahim Idris whose tenure elapses on Thursday after attaining 60 years mandatory retirement is seen amongst party members.
Already, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the Coalition of United Political Parties (CUPP) have asked that the tenure of IGP Idris should not be extended.
The PDP insisted if the President was sincere to conduct free and fair elections, he must select a competent replacement for the IGP and not extend his tenure.
Idris was enlisted into the Nigerian Police Force on January,3rd 1984.
