The Appeals Court has adjourned for hearing the Appeal of the factional Social Democratic Party (SDP), and others against the judgement of the Abuja High Court of 14th December 2018 which declared Professor Jerry Gana as the Presidential Candidate of the SDP.
The Appeal was adjourned to Tuesday 15 January 2019.
However, the former governor of Cross-Rivers State Donald Duke has maintained that he remains the recognised Presidential candidate of SDP since no order was made with respect to the enforcement of the Lower Court judgement which has been put on hold, owing to the Motion filed by him.
“What this translates to is that the candidate of the SDP, His Excellency Donald Duke as recognized by Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) remains the presidential flagbearer of the Party, pending the outcome of the processes before the court.
