The Presidential Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubarkar has described the postponement of the elections by INEC as a grand plot to provoke the public.
Atiku acussed President Muhammadu Buhari of instigating the postponement saying “he hopes to disenfranchise the Nigerian electorate in order to ensure that turn out is low on the rescheduled date”.
He however urged Nigerians to frustrate the purported plan by coming out in even greater numbers on Saturday, 23 February and Saturday, 9 March respectively.
INEC had on Saturday morning shifted the Presidential and National Assembly elections scheduled for Saturday Feb. 16 to Feb. 23, while state elections also rescheduled from March 2 to March 9 citing logistics and operational plan as reasons for the postponement.
