The Special Assistant on Youth Development to the Delta State governor, Ifeanyi Okowa, has been reportedly killed in Ekpan in Uvwie local government area of the state.
The victim, Ngozi Lawrence Ijei, was said to have been shot dead on Friday night after being ambushed by attackers while returning from an outing.
His assailants were said to have made away with a huge sum of money found in his possession
Meanwhile, Governor Okowa has condemned the killing, saying he was deeply saddened over the incident.
He urged security agencies to investigate the “unfortunate incident with a view to bringing the perpetrators to justice.”
Prior to his appointment by Okowa in 2016, Ngozi was standing trial for alleged murder but was released from prison before being appointed SA on Community and Youth Affairs to the governor.
