The Coalition of the United Political Parties (CUPP) says it has intercepted a 5-man list of the Justices of the Court of Appeal that will hear the petition of the PDP and its candidate, Atiku Abubakar at the 23rd of February, 2019 Presidential elections. The Coalition said it intercepted the list during its conveyance from the Presidential Villa (for approval) back to the Court of Appeal. CUPP said the list of the eight justices will be headed by Justice Zainab Adamu-Bulkachuwa (Presiding Judge and President Court of Appeal). CUPP said the drafted list had been skewed “with three of the justices been compromised to rule in favour of APC”. The Coalition said the selected justices “are agents and officers of the President in the temple of justice” hence they should disqualify themselves.
The names of the Justices on the panel as released by the CUP are:
1. Justice Zainab Adamu-Bulkachuwa Presiding Judge and President Court of Appeal and wife of the APC Senator Elect from Bauchi
2. Justice Abdu- Aboki
3. Justice Peter O. Ige
4. Justice J. S. Ikyegh
5. Justice S. C. Oseji
“It is based on the foregoing and the evidence in the custody of the CUPP that we immediately, categorically and unambiguously demand that Justices Zaibab Bulkachuwa, Justice Aboki and Justice Peter Ige recuse themselves from the Panel”. The party said
