The acting Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, has deployed five Deputy Inspectors-General of Police and three Assistant Inspectors of Police to further strengthen security during the supplementary elections on Saturday.
He has also sent 15 additional Commissioners of Police to provide supervision, direction and support to the existing security already in place in states where the elections will take place.
Out of the 15 police commissioners, three each were sent to Benue and Sokoto, two each to Adamawa, Bauchi, Kano and Plateau States, while Imo got one.
Adamu has instructed top police brass sent to the areas to ensure adequate security.
