Former minister of finance and coordinating minister of the economy under the Jonathan administration has been listed by global anti-corruption watchdog- Transparency International (TI) – as one of the eight “Corruption Fighters” in the world.
In a Tweet on Friday, the two time finance minister thanked TI for the “wonderful recognition.” Other women who made this year’s list include- Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC); Claudia Escobar, Robtel Neajai Pailey, Khadija Ismayilova, Soledad Jarquín, Ana Garrido Ramos and “All the women at Transparency International.”
Okonjo-Iweala who sits on the board of several global corporations is the second African and the only Nigerian so far to make the prestigious list.
