Loan request of $150-million from the African Development Bank has been approved by the Federal Executive Council to facilitate the Nigerian Electrification Project.
The Minister of Finance, Mrs Zainab Ahmed, disclosed this while adding that another $50m loan facility from the African Grow Together Fund was also approved making a total sum of $200m approval towards the electrification project.
The project, which is a nationwide initiative, has four components including solar hybrid mini-grid for rural economic development, the productive appliances equipment for up-grid communities, energising education and institutional capacity building.
