Governor Akinwunmi Ambode has pardons 14 inmates who had spent more than 20 years in prison for various offences.
The Governor also converted 20 inmates sentences, who were on death row to life imprisonment.
Ambode said the development was pursuant to Constitutional provision which provides for the constitution of an Advisory Council and grants the Governor power to grant clemency to convicted persons on the advice of the Council.
He said the inmates were were pardoned after their case files were examined, which revealed that they had been reformed and ready for re-integration into the society.
