The Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, Kogi State council, says most of the state’s civil servants now beg on the streets to feed their families due to non-payment of their monthly emoluments.
NLC said civil servants in the state are owed between seven to 30 months salary arrears by the state government.
NLC also accused the state government of owing the workers their leave bonuses while promotions carried out by the government was not being cash-backed as such promotions only existed on paper.
NLC, however, urged the Federal Government to release the balance of N30.8-billion bailout fund to enable the government to clear the salary arrears owed workers in the state.
