President Buhari commiserated with the family, government and people of Plateau on the death of the outstanding scholar and community leader, Umaru Gomwalk.
Gomwalk was the administrator of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka and under unusual circumstances and during a challenging period.
He was also an illustrious teacher, Vice-Chancellor, Chairman Presidential Advisory Council and Governing Council of the Nigerian National Merit Award among others.
Buhari said that he carried out his duties with so much dedication and passion for service, and he ensured justice for all.
The President added that he was deeply touched by the “dedicated and creative public servant” and urged younger Nigerians to emulate such a rare and hardworking citizen for the progress of our country.
