The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission(EFCC) received an anti-crime application that will enable intelligence sharing of organised crime data, such as money laundering and terrorism financing.
EFCC spokesperson Tony Orilade said that the application was received by the International Criminal Police Organisation (Interpol)
Orilade confirmed that the application consisted of a database that will enable the interface between Interpol and national law enforcement agencies through an i24/7 Gemini project global communication system.
Meanwhile, Noha Amer, the INTERPOL project officer said the project, funded by the United States, is being used in three other African countries, Niger, Mali and Libya, to crack the path of illicit funds to terrorism.
