The Department of State Services (DSS) has denied that it has charged Justice Zainab Bulkachuwa, Chairman, Presidential Election Tribunal, for bribery and corruption.
DSS urged the public to disregard the report, saying it only existed in the “imagination” of the authors.
It described the report as “unfortunate”, adding that making the falsehood public was unethical.
The service said it had commenced an investigation into the publication of the story.
DSS also advised politicians to be law-abiding and respect the process of litigation regarding the activities of the tribunal “and leave the service alone”.
Earlier the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) had asked Justice Bulkachuwa to recuse herself from the Presidential Election Petition Panel because she is the wife of an APC’s Senator-elect.
