Senate President, Bukola Saraki has said his latest probe by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) is a witch-hunt against his person and lacks objectivity.
The EFCC had it was carrying out a probe of the Senate President’s earnings while was Governor of Kwara State from 2003 to 2011.
However, Saraki said the latest probe was aimed at getting back at him by his political opponents.
“To single out one individual for persistent investigation can only be logically and plausibly interpreted to be a witch-hunt. This is definitely no fight against corruption. It is a battle waged against a ‘political enemy’. It is a ‘label to damage’ plot.”
He insisted that his earnings as governor had long been probed before his emergence as Nigeria’s Senate president in 2015 saying nothing was found against him.
