The Super Falcons of Nigeria have bounced back from their disappointing opening game lost to Norway by defeating South Korea 2-0 in the group A Match of the 2019 FIFA Women World Cup.
Thomas Dennerby made three changes to the side that lost to Norway last time out, Chiamaka Nnadozie replacing Tochukwu Oluehi in between the sticks while Chinaza Uchendu and Chidimma Okeke also started.
Nigeria took the lead from an own goal by the South Korean Defender Kim Do-yeon and double the lead in the 75th minute of play when Barcelona forward, Asisat Oshoala shrugged off the resistance of Hwang to round Minjung and slot home to the delight of the supporters.
Nigeria will seal progression to the knockout stages of the tournament for the first time in their last five attempts if they can get a favourable result in their next group game against France.
