President Muhammadu has approved the accelerated promotion of Major-General Lamidi Adeosun to the position of Lieutenant General in the Nigerian Army.
In a statement issued by the Army Director of Public Relations, Col Sagir Musa said Adeosun’s promotion was promoted for his extra-ordinary feat in the counter insurgency operation in the North Eastern part of the country.
Adeosun, who is now the Chief of Training and Operations at Army Headquarters was one time the General Officer Commanding (GOC) in charge of 7 Division of the Army in Maiduguri.
He had also headed the Multi-National Joint Task Force (MNJTF) in Chad.
The President also promoted to the rank of Major General, Brigadier General AB Biu, the General Officer Commanding 7 Division and Commander Sector 2 of Operation LAFIYA DOLE Maiduguri.
“Also, promoted to the rank of Captain is Lieutenant AJ Danjibrin of 211 Demonstration Battalion Bauchi.
“The President, Commander – in – Chief of the Armed Forces, of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, President Muhammadu Buhari has conveyed his personal congratulations to the promoted officers and charged them to continue to be shining examples to their colleagues.
