The Presidential Election Petition Tribunal has issued a subpoena for the chairperson of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Mahmood Yakubu, to appear before it on Thursday 18, 2019.
The tribunal gave the ruling after the PDP informed the court that the commission’s chairperson had failed to comply with the order asking him to appear in person to provide certain documents requested by the PDP/Atiku Legal teams.
“In today’s sitting, the trial judge of the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal, Justice Mohammed Garba, while delivering ruling on the request, ordered the INEC Chairman and the Zamfara REC to appear in court with some documents as requested by the PDP
The Court also ordered the INEC’s lead counsel, Yunus Usman (SAN) to ensure that the subpoena Order is complied with.
