The National Working Committee (NWC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has upheld the disqualification of Mustapha Audu and his brother, Muhammed Audu for the party’s gubernatorial primary.
Mustapha and Mohammed Audu are sons of the former governor of the State, Late Abubakar Audu.
Mustapha had in an exclusive interview with Rootstv Nigeria stated he had been cleared by the Appeal Committee.
The hope Uzordinma led screening committee had earlier disqualified the Audus’ on the grounds of invalid nomination process and no evidence of financial contribution to the party.
However, the APC’s NWC after deliberation on the screeing and appeal committees said nine aspirants were eventually cleared to contest the August Indirect Governorship Primaries.
Those cleared are incumbent Governor of the State, Yahaya Bello, Hadiza Iyoma Ibrahim, Yahaya Odidi Audu, Sani Lulu Abdullahi, Engr. Abubakar Bashir, Engr. Danlami Umar Mohammed, Yakubu Mohammed, Hassan Abdullahi and Ekele Aishat Blessing.
The party, however, declined to clear the Audu’s brothers alongside Professor Mohammed Seidu Onaili, Usman Oyibe Jibril, Rukkaya Ibrahim, Gen. Patrick Adenu Akpa and Babatunde AyoKunle Irukera.
