An unnamed bandit has returned 30 kidnapped victims to Kastina State Government House in the prisoner swap-deal between the government and the bandits terrorising the state.
The Governor of the State, Aminu Bello Masari while receiving the victim disclosed that his government will continue to persuade the bandits to release more kidnapped victims in their custody.
Narrating her ordeal, one of the kidnapped victims, Zinatu Sani stated that they were held in Damsadau’s forest in Zamfara state without shelter for 55 days.
The mother of two also disclosed that the bandits gave them measured amount of uncooked rice, and ordered them to boil same using only water and salt, adding that for 55 days, she and her children slept without a roof on their head.
Last week, Six bandits detained by security agencies were released by the Katsina State Government as part of a peace deal with bandits terrorising eight local government areas in the state.
Zamfara State Government had also entered a ceasefire deal with the bandits but reports have indicated that the bandits have taken their activities to Kebbi and Sokoto States.
