The Election Petition Tribunals in Kano and Sokoto States will determine the petitions challenging the declaration of Governors Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano and Aminu Tambuwal winners of the governorship elections in their states.
In Kano, the PDP Governorship candidate, Abba Kabir, had challenged the outcome of the poll saying the supplementary election held on March 23 was unnecessary because he won at first ballot.
He also insisted that the supplementary poll was marred by violence and their members were prevented from casting their votes.
Kabir presented 34 witnesses and 1,040 documents to support his claim during the hearing while Ganduje presented four witnesses.
Meanwhile, the Sokoto Election Tribunal has moved to rule on the petition filed against Tambuwal who was declared winner of the governorship election in the State.
Tambuwal polled 512,002 votes to defeat Ahmed Aliyu of APC who polled 511,660 votes but the latter alleged that there were irregularities in the conduct of poll.
