Former U.S. President Barack Obama has unveiled his annual summer playlist for 2024, featuring 44 tracks from a diverse range of genres. This year’s list includes two notable Nigerian hits: “Love Me Jeje” by Tems and “Yayo” by Rema.
In addition to the Nigerian artists, the playlist showcases a variety of international songs, such as Bob Marley’s classic “Them Belly Full,” Beyoncé’s “Texas Hold ‘Em,” and Megan Thee Stallion’s “Wanna Be.” Obama shared the playlist on social media, expressing his hope that listeners will discover new music from the eclectic selection.
Obama has been sharing these playlists since his presidency, and he confirmed last year that he curates them, countering speculation that they are compiled by staff. He emphasized his genuine connection to the music, stating, “No, man! It’s on my iPad right now,” highlighting his active role in selecting the tracks.
